CDMA Wireless Phones the Next Generation of Cell Phones

CDMA wireless phones may be the new technology that becomes the standard of the next generation of cell phones. There are currently a total of four different types of digital networking technologies for cell phones which include the GSM, iDEN, TDMA, and CDMA networks. The TDMA and CDMA networks are the most widely used among most carriers, thus they are natural competitors. CDMA stands for Code Division Multiple Access, and is the newer of the two technologies.

TDMA is the older standard, and is more widely understood than CDMA so some carriers are apprehensive about the newer CDMA network. Although the CDMA network has a higher capacity than TDMA and offers better voice quality and other advantages as well. In time, the cell phone carriers may begin to shift towards the CDMA network.
